Your passages, decisions, and exports stay on your device. Source-to-Recall Gate has no account system and does not send study content to us.

What is stored

The PWA stores captured passages, optional source metadata, your three decisions, and export timestamps in this browser’s local storage. The extension stores the same fields in extension-local browser storage. A paid license token and its last verification result are stored locally if you activate a Press Pass.

What leaves your device

Study content never leaves your device. When you activate or re-check a Press Pass, only the license token is sent over HTTPS to the Sociobot billing API. Sociobot/Dodo is the merchant of record and processes checkout details under its own checkout privacy terms. This product loads no third-party fonts, scripts, ads, analytics, or trackers.

Browser permissions

The extension uses storage to keep your queue locally, context menus to offer the capture action, and active-tab/scripting access only after your click or keyboard command to read the text you selected. Access to api.sociobot.in is used only to verify a Press Pass token. It does not scrape or read the rest of a page.

Delete and export

Use “Delete all local data” in the gate to erase study data from the current browser. Removing the extension also removes its extension-local storage under normal browser behavior. Individual exports are free; Press Pass holders can download a complete local backup.
